ABSTRACT:
White married American women face elevated morbidity rates due to suicide and depression than non-white married Hispanic or African American women. Sociologists believe that these conditions are a result of forced "socialization" of these women. Women are expected to hold full-time jobs, be mothers and be educated. This article will search for influential determinants of white American women and self inflicting harm.
