ABSTRACT:
This article examines the identities and experiences of same-sex couples in psychotherapy sessions. The impact of prolonged psychological abuse and discriminaion against these couples within their ethno-cultural communities should be considered by all therapists. In this article effective interviews were conducted with 10 same-sex couples. One theme emerged and it was how these couple's culturally constructed identities and epistemology strengthened the stigma of being (gay) in a same-sex relationship.
