ABSTRACT:
Irradiation effects on spin cast films of metal-organic copper-bis-acetylacetone [((CH3CO)2CH)2Cu:Cu(acac)2] have been studied using He+, Ar+, and O+ ionic species. The formation of CuO and paramelaconite (6CuO · Cu2O) phases is observed in the irradiated samples irrespectively of the
ionic species. Post irradiation oxygen annealing leads to the formation of a single phase CuO film for the
sample irradiated with O+ ions. The formation of a single phase CuO film is assigned to the combination
of the fact that the compound formations with higher oxidation states are preferred
