ABSTRACT:
The research question in this study was, how did startups of the IT industry in South Korea become either large or medium-sized firms in just ten years? Were there any particular HR practices supporting their business success? This study identified the HR practices of startups, using a comparative case study approach. Emerging themes analyzed from four cases are adjusting to changing markets (globalization), the founder effect, workforce management, organization culture change, and challenges.
