ABSTRACT:
Certain breed behavior patterns are characteristic of the beef and dairy cattle breeds raised in Lithuania. Beef cattle of the Aubrac breed have more noticeable retained the instincts of the wild ancestor herds. Beef calves raised under confirmed-pasturage technique are significantly more active during the day in comparison with the calves of dairy breeds raised in confinement. It has been determined that young Aubrac calves show more clearly expressed fights for hierarchy, and, thus, when in confinement these beef cattle should be raised in smaller groups from the age of one year.
