ABSTRACT:
The present work fructifies the authors' experience in the study of descriptive statistics parameters used for study of expressions that contains binomial distributed variables.
Due to the impact of parameters calculated on the 2X2 contingency table in expression of a entire series of statistical results, from sociological and economical studies to the results of in vivo and in vitro experimental research results, but especially in field of medical studies, where a true fact is that with one percent a patient can be killed, the authors of the present monography start on 2003 the investigation of confidence intervals for these parameters.
A series of results was obtained on the subject of confidence intervals for parameters calculated on the contingency table during five years of research.
The design, implementation and assessment of software modules for binomial distribution model, assessment of probabilities (named also experimental errors) associated with a given confidence interval for an expression of binomial distributed variables and elaboration of a series of descriptive statistics parameters able to classify (compare) two or more methods of confidence interval expressed for a expression of binomial distributed variables and a imposed significance level are the main contributions of authors in the field of fundamental research.
The study of binomial distributed variables expressions covered by the contents of the present work is described on 226 pages (234 pages including the terms compendium) and in the most part (over 80%) it is focused on the presentation of the results obtained in the assessment of different methods of confidence interval calculation for expressions of binomial variables applied for a significance level (á) of 5%. Thus, in the book are 70 tables, 159 calculation algorithms (as modules or programs) and 755 images (754 being graphs).
