ABSTRACT:
African elephant (Loxodonta africana) are known to be destructive feeders because oftheir behaviour of killing trees while browsing. This fact is significant for landownersthat reintroduce elephant to game farms because trees can be a crucial resource for areserve as a whole. Therefore, understanding the dynamics between elephants and theirfood resource is important. In this paper we consider the influences of elephantmovement patterns on modelling elephant tree dynamics and discuss the generalimplications of such models.
