ABSTRACT:
It is known that tomatoes require daily at least 4 hours darkness for a normal growth and reproduction. In continuous light they become chlorotic and do not bear fruits (1, 2, 3, 4). It was tempted to find possibilities to avoid this reaction. T. Kristoffen (4) obtained a diminishing of this negative influence of light by hormones and benzyladenin, AG3, auxine and CCC. The experiment was carried out in artificial light from fluorescent lamps, and by an intensity of 6500-7000 lx. The control received pure water. The used solutions were: benzyl-adenin, 10mg/l; Ag, 10 mg/l; auxine (AIA), 10 mg/l; CCC, 20 mg/l.
