ABSTRACT:
A spontaneous population of Herniaria glabra L. collected in Valea Ierii (Distr. Cluj) was introduced in cultivation as a medicinal plant used in uro-genital deseases. The experiment was performed in the field of Agronomy Institutus Cluj-Napoca. After an unsuccessfull attempt of cultivation by sowing, the plants established were used for vegetative propagation (remots in different ways). Using this remots, an experimental culture was started in 1982. The development of individual plants and the accumulation of saponins, flavones and coumarines in the cloned material is discussed.
