ABSTRACT:
Based on gestalt theory as proposed by scientists such as Christian von Ehrenfels, Kurt Koffka, Wolfgang Köhler, and Max Wertheimer, the dissertation considers “stylized” prosodic gestalts. It asserts that prosodic gestalts obey the same principles of perception as do visual and musical gestalts.
