ABSTRACT:
Analyzes and critizises the wide-spread use of bellistic metaphors in communication and treatment of patients with cancer diagnosis. Proposes a Gestalt theory based alternative to this approach, encouraging the oncological patients to use other metaphors. Presents case studies for Gestalt theoretical psychotherapy with oncological patients showing that this alternative shows positive results.
