ABSTRACT:
In the last years in the rural areas of Romania, the thermal necessity increased because the life standard equaly increased. In this condition the rate of thermal unit using solid biomass fuel increased. In order to select the optimal solution of the solid biomass heating system for a household, an energetic analysis is required. The paper is presenting a basic mathematical model and the software developed for realizing that energetic analysis. The determination of optimum consumption and type of biomass fuel necessary for thermal energy demand of household is possible using the basic software developed. Because of the poor thermal knowledge of the target users, people in rural areas of Romania, it was developed a very simple to use interface software useful for the choice of an efficient biomass thermal unit for the house owners. The software is able to calculate the heat demand and the total quantity of biomass necessary for heating household considering the energetic characteristics of solid biomass, the thermal characteristics of construction elements and outside and inside temperature.

Key words: basic software, thermal energy, solid biomass, energy source.
