ABSTRACT:
The purpose of the study was to examine the attitude of physical educators toward teaching students with disabilities included in general physical education classes. Participants were 182 physical education teachers from a midwestern state who taught students at the junior high school level. Data was collected using the Physical Educators' Attitude Toward Teaching Individuals with Disabilities. There were no significant differences between male and female teachers in relation to attitude toward teaching students with disabilities. However, the results indicated that the attitude toward students with mental retardation and emotional disturbances was less favorable than teaching students with learning disabilities.
