Biographical sketch of A.A. Giesecke (1883-1968), a North American who spent much of his life in Peru. Among his notable achievements was to tell Hiram Bingham where to go in 1911 to find Machu Picchu. Giesecke also had a major hand in the establishment of archaeology museums in Cusco and Lima.
