ABSTRACT:
This paper deals with the study of dynamic instability behaviour of angle-ply laminated composite stiffened plate subjected to uniaxial uniform edge loading. The theory of eight-noded degenerated shell element and three-noded degenerated curved beam element with five degrees of freedom per node is adopted in the present analysis to model the plate and stiffeners respectively. Numerical results are established through convergence and comparison with the published data from the literature. The effects of number of layers, positions of the stiffeners, eccentricity and aspect ratio on dynamic instability characteristics of the stiffened plates are considered and the results are discussed.
