ABSTRACT:
This article is divided into two parts: The first part follows the tracks of the history of application of Gestalt theory in the field of psychotherapy. The second part presents an outline of some essential meta-theoretical concepts of Gestalt Theoretical Psychotherapy - founded by Hans-Jürgen P. Walter and advanced over the last 30 years in the German speaking countries. Gestalt Theoretical Psychotherapy claims to be a psychotherapeutic approach that is consistently rooted in the Gestalt theory of the Berlin School.
