ABSTRACT:
Workshop participants will join a free professional collaborative, allowing them to receive mutual support as well as collaborate between classes (especially on the K-12 level). There is no more safe and secure site on the Internet for K-12 students to collaborate. Too often school districts feel the need to "clamp down" on the Net, fearing the possibility that "something bad" will happen. Furthermore, without sustained support, most Internet tools never become explored in the classroom. Student-centered pedagogy, constructivism, communities of practice, project based learning, etc. all sound wonderful in credential and Masters courses; Tapped In helps put them into practice in today's classrooms.
