DESCRIPTION:
EYBOL was the unclassified version of the U.S. Navy air-to-air missile known as WALLEYE.
There were two CAI programs. This one was the unclassified version. The other delivered to the Navy Ordnance Test Station (NOTS) at China Lake, CA, was the SECRET version.
The unclassified version ran on the GE-265 time-sharing system in Los Angeles, CA, with remote terminals at the ETC offices in Los Angeles. It was written in the LYRIC CAI language invented by the senior author.
The SECRET version ran on the NOTS computers at the China Lake facility. It also was written in the LYRIC CAI language.
The unclassified version is unavailable since time-sharing systems, per se, no longer exist.
