ABSTRACT:
In this theoretical paper corporate governance issues pertinent to MNEs entering post-communist emerging markets are investigated. Three perspectives are considered: the country of origin effects on the MNEs’ strategic choice, the role of the host country to define itself and attempt to shift the economic logic of MNEs, to include social responsibility and good governance practices, and the MNEs’ role in the economic development of the host country.
