ABSTRACT:
The paper considered the changes observed in the climate of Northern part of Bulgaria and production of some main agricultural plant for the region (wheat, maize and tomato) as well the relation between them. In the first part the methods of investigation are described. The second part give an overview on existing knowledge of global climate change and changes of temperature and precipitation observed in Bulgaria. Impact of agroclimatic condition for plant growing is pointed out in the part three. And the vulnerability and adaptation of plant growing on climate change is discussed in part four. The data for air temperature, precipitation and yields of wheat, maize and tomato for North Bulgaria are used. The main investigated period for climatic elements is 1931-2000 and the references period are 1931-1960, 1961-1990 and 1961-2000. The temperature sums for the period with the temperature above 10 °C (Ts10) are used for estimation of agroclimatic conditions. The humidity conditions are described by Selyaninov's hydro-thermal coefficient and by the balance of atmospheric humidity.
