ABSTRACT:
It is suggested to read [moderatione ...] in the gap of line 5 (1st fragment) of the Tabula Siarensis as moderatio is often connected with Tiberius in our other sources, esp. when he refuses honours. Some examples are given which show that moderatio was an imperial virtue Tiberius regarded as an important aspect of his self-representation.
