ABSTRACT:
This article analyzes the evidence available regarding the Sky Disc of Nebra recently found in Germany and suggests an alternative astronomical solution to that preferred by mainstream scholars, showing that the currently accepted interpretation - the Sky Disc as a predictor of Spring and Autumn rises of the Pleiades for purposes of agriculture - is not supported by the evidence availabe. Rather, it is shown that a comprehensive analysis of the evidence indicates that the Sky Disc of Nebra records a total solar eclipse which was visible in Germany in the sky near the Pleiades and the Vernal Equinox Point on 16 April in 1699 BC (Starry Night Pro as eclipse source).
