ABSTRACT:
Based on research into human beings I have made a proposal for the classification of the percepts of human consciousness into five echelons. As Köhler wrote in 1938, the consciousness percept is always localized internally in an organism, even though it can be often about the external part of this organism in its owner’s consciousness. The two echelons (subjective state and objective state) would be like levels, but as “level” is traditionally reserved for the general systems theory, I found a similar name, "echelon".
There are five echelons in a percept. The organization of perceptions and emotions into a single consciousness is characteristic of the organism level, which cannot be only conscious but can also be "silent" or non-conscious. In the direct lower level, there are regions of the brain that are mainly emotional and regions that are mainly perceptual.
