De nombreuses communautés de recherche ont mis en place des outils terminologiques qui conduisent à des bases de référence initiées, partagées ou discutées par leurs membres. A l'heure des TIC, la réflexion sur un outil collaboratif dédié est nécessaire. Notre démarche s'inspire du courant actuel qui tend à resituer l'homme au sein du dispositif homme-machine. Le contexte à La Réunion nous amène à appliquer cette réflexion à la communauté de recherche sur les hydraires. La démarche proposée s'appuie sur la théorie des communautés de pratique d'E.Wenger et souscrit à l'approche instrumentale de P.Rabardel.
