ABSTRACT:
The author is an artist, writer, and university professor. For the past thirty years, he has used Max Wertheimer´s perceptual grouping principles (or unit forming factors) and other findings of the Gestalt psychologists in courses he has taught about graphic design. In this paper, he describes and offers examples of some of the problems that he uses with undergraduate students in introductory college-level courses.
