ABSTRACT:
As an important substance for the structure and function of organisms, amino acids have taken part in various primary metabolism processes. Their roles in secondary metabolism are introduced in this article: firstly, the primary metabolism of amino acids is the main producing path of alkaloids and peptide antibiotics; second, nonprotein amino acids have significant functions as secondary metabolites.
