ABSTRACT:
The author was originally quite impressed by the provisional word text file version of the study by colleague Dr. Ahmed from Britain on the tragedy of September 11. His first positive electronic comment on the first version of the text, sent to him by Peter Spengler in Frankfurt, editor of "Studien von Zeitfragen" is now on the book cover of that book (in company with several other, well-known academic authors and the former democratic representative for Georgia, Congresswoman Mrs. Cynthia Mc Kinney).
The author cannot escape the impression that by the inclusion of the "afterword" in the printed final version of the book which he never saw before it went in print (with his name on the cover) - there is now too much in terms of conspiracy theories in the book.
Future Congressional investigations will - the author hopes - ask present and past decision makers in Washington relevant questions, based on the book. Relevant is also to ask what role was played by the American collaboration with the Taliban in the 1980s via the Pakistani ISI under Lt. General Hamid GUL, the institution that "created" OBL and all these other "freedom" fighters with "God on their side" (Z. Brzezinski)in the first place:

By inclusion of the afterword there is a dramatic turn in the published version - what looked in the draft as a very serious account of the intelligence failure of September 11 has now, by the afterword by Mr. Leonard, become in the final printed version as THE great Israeli conspiracy.
However the author welcomes the German version of the book, published by Riemann/Bertelsmann/Random House Germany, which does not include this afterword; all versions of the book that exclude the afterword by Mr. Leonard continue for him to be a very relevant contribution to intelligence research about 09/11.
