ABSTRACT:
The relationship between the State and the professional football, and this one with the television media are the main focus of this paperwork. For that it was done initially with a bibliography revision, that ends with a interview with people connected in this area of actuation. The main objective of this paperwork is to perceive what are the vision of this people in this theme, and the secondaries objectives are the characterization of professional football as a public good and the relationship of power between the television media and the professional football. These interviews are semi-structured, while the interviewed persons were picked intentionally, being this one composed by: three supporters (one with pay-per-view, one with cable-tv and one only with free-tv); one sport journalist; two people connected to football (one counsellor of the Sport Club Internacional, and one ex-technic coordinator of the Grêmio Football Porto-Alegrense); two politics (one alderman from the PSB, and one state deputy of the PMDB). For the realization of this interview, firstly was tried to define what are public goods, what are common goods, the dichotomy between the terms public and private and the forms of interest in our society. It was presented the existed relationship between professional football and the media, giving a bigger focus on the television, and the characterization of football as a public good. With the analysis of the interviews was founded that the vision of this people are more linked with their politic understanding than with their position in this context.
