It was hypothesized, and found, that a behavioral observation scale (BOS) based performance appraisal and review (in comparison to a graphic rating scale [GRS] based performance appraisal and review) would yield higher levels of goal clarity, goal acceptance, goal commitment, appraisal process satisfaction, and job performance improvement.
