ABSTRACT:
The contradictions between the Syriac Breviary and the Greek passion of the military martyr Acacius as to the location of this martyr's death point to foundation by the comes Acacius under Constantine I of a church at Constantinople which went by his own name until it was mistakenly identified as the final resting place of the military martyr St. Acacius by the end of the fourth century at latest.
