ABSTRACT:
This paper examines issues concerning the production and circulation of Early and Middle Jomon pottery in the Tohoku region of northern Japan. An attempt is made to determine whether the copious amounts of pottery found at the Sannai Maruyama site were produced locally or were brought in from other areas.
