ABSTRACT:
An examination of two life histories [Gail Paradise Kelly and Patricia J. Moran] that compares idiosyncratic struggle within various patriarchical bureaucracies. Kelly (a traditional academic) and Moran (a textbook example of academic life interrupted)illustrate the strength of the struggle against the male orientation of sociological and educational discourse.
