ABSTRACT:
This paper illustrates the use of ICP-MS to determine the trace element chemistry of Jomon pottery. Selective trace elements were measured on 47 shards of Middle and Late Jomon pottery from the Kanto region. Multivariate statistical analysis found four groups in the data set.
