ABSTRACT:
To assess the effectiveness of an eclectic teaching approach, in comparison to teacher's preferred methods of instruction, a field test was designed using Canfield's Instructional Style Survey (1975). Three standardized psychomotor achievement tests, selected for 4 activities, were administered to 156 (male and female) Jr. high school students. Pre and post-test analysis, utilizing ANCOVA, indicated that the eclectic approach tended to indicate a higher level of psychomotor achievement. To accommodate individual learning differences the recommendation is made to consider incorporating a variety of instructional methods into the educational environment.
