ABSTRACT:
A presentation of alternative models for the types of organizational change that emanate from some form of initial environmental disturbance/kick/jolt. These alternative processual models are presented on the premise that organizational change can only be understood by tracing the organizational transitions & transformations that occur following the environmental disturbance. Four models are portrayed: rebuttal, reorientation, colonization, & evolution. Amplification of the second & third models is provided through case studies of actual changes using secondary data. Given the rudimentary stage in the present understanding of the dynamics of change, future research is urged. 5 Figures, 43 References. Adapted from the source document
