ABSTRACT:
The purpose of this study was to determine if game location significantly affected team performance. The final score and five performance variables (field goal percentage, free throw percentage, rebounds, assists, and turnovers) of Atlantic Coast Conference men's basketball teams were examined to determine if game location affected these variables. Seven of eight (88 percent) teams in the ACC won more games at home than away. Two of the five performance variables (field goal percentage and assists) were significantly better during home games than during away games. The results indicate that game location did affect team performances.
