ABSTRACT:
Reports results from a survey on college student's attitudes and orientations toward sports participation. Results for males and females were compared along the dimensions of sportsmanship values, emphasis on playing for fun. Concluded that orientations towards competition are associated with the amount of past sports success, current sports enthusiasm and support for the established structure of American sport.
