ABSTRACT:
A replication of Spreitzer and Snyder's (1975) study assessing people's perceptions of the functions of sport. Found that: persons involved in sport viewed sport as providing life satisfactions, escaping tensions, encouraging friendships, developing citizenship, respect for authority and opportunities for advancement. Data were collected from 637 university students and faculty.
