ABSTRACT:
Examines the origins of sport psychology in the United States and England. Results indicate the development has been irregular. Examination of major books and conferences indicates that the strongest period of development occurred between 1905 and 1975. Four major areas of emphasis are suggested in the developmental trends of sport psychology in the United States and Britain.
