ABSTRACT:
Describes human ethology as the study of the interaction of man and environment in a natural setting, and the examination of whether human behaviours are innate or acquired. Reviews studies on the ethology of sport. Contends that an ethological orientation will contribute to the observation of sport and will enable researchers to interpret observed behaviours within the macro-framework of human evolution.
