ABSTRACT:
Forty-nine physical education teachers in Los Angeles high schools in the surburbs and the inner-city were evaluated on four aspects of job satisfaction. Inner city teachers showed higher satisfaction for the extrinsic benefit (pay) than the suburban teachers who had higher satisfaction with the intrinsic benefits (work, colleagues, supervision).
