ABSTRACT:
An alternative to public resource-based recreation areas is the national reserve concept which has also given rise to the use of private rural land modelled after the national reserve. In Australia, this latter type of recreation space could prove to be a most efficient and cost-effective method for the provision of extra-urban recreation space.
