ABSTRACT:
What should beginning teachers know and be able to do in relation to health education such that learning is enhanced? Using the Delphi technique, experts from different parts of Canada generated a set of learning outcomes for health education for beginning elementary teachers. These learning outcomes are intended to inform teacher educators' decisions about what and how to teach health during preservice programs. These outcomes may guide and help clarify the development of teacher preservice and inservice programs related to health education. The authors discuss the implications and make recommendations in light of the outcome statements presented.
