ABSTRACT:
Focuses upon previous studies on stacking in professional baseball and compares findings with those of Medoff (1977). Results indicate that blacks have been under-represented at central playing positions regardless of the time period studied since 1956 and that there has been an increase in the proportions of blacks to whites through time. Medoff's economic hypothesis is rejected as an explanation of recent trends.
