My research involves human chromosome 22 rearrangements: the molecular mechanisms of their origin and their phenotypic consequences. The focus is on two syndromes: cat eye syndrome, associated with a duplication, and del (22) (q13.3) syndrome, associated with a deletion. Approaches include long range mapping and cloning; isolating and characterizing genes and cytogenetic analyses. |
