Dr. Bradley Magor  (b. ----, d. ----)

Prev  | Next )
POSITION(S) / JOB TITLE(S):
Assistant Professor
AREAS OF EXPERTISE:
My interests are in the evolutionary origins of immune systems. We are taking a genomics approach to identifying the molecular ancestor(s) to the Major Histocompatibility Complex (molecules mediating self/non-self recognition) in a colonial proto-chordate (Botryllus) which undergoes a natural tissue transplantation process in the wild. We also study the nature of antibody responses (class switching & somatic hypermutation) following ‘vaccinations’ in sharks, fish and amphibians and the possible role of transcriptional enhancers & transposons in the evolution and mechanics of these processes.
