Comparative physiology and biochemistry of ion transport in aquatic vertebrates. Current focus is on the physiology and biochemical pathways involved in homeostatic regulation of ion transport systems in response to environmental stress. These stresses include osmotic changes, hyperoxia and hypercapnia. Particular attention is focused on the ion transporters linked directly to pH regulation. |
