After doing her initial undergraduate OT program in Sydney, Australia, Helen completed her graduate work in Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta. Her research interests are in career development and choice, program evaluation. Current research includes investigating the influence of young women's experiences on career decision making in science and science related fields. This is a multidisciplinary, SSHRC funded initiative. Helen was awarded a McCalla Professorship in the 1999/2000 academic year to complete research in this field. In collaboration with a multidisciplinary team Helen is currently working on a project titled "Women's Views of Their Opportunities in the New Economy" which is supported through a SSHRC/INE Development Grant.
