Research includes epidemiology of plant diseases with emphasis in forest pathology. Current studies focus on the epidemiology of western gall rust, methods for evaluating lodgepole pine for gall rust resistance, Armillaria root rot, fairy ring control and the adaptation of epidemiological models to account for the influence of rate-reducing resistance on critical stages in the disease cycle of the rice blast fungus.
