A PARENT PUBLICATION is a PUBLICATION that contains other publications (the contained publications are known as CHILD PUBLICATIONS). The following are parent/child relationships among getCITED publications:
  • A book series is a PARENT publication for the books in the series. Working papers/manuscripts may also be included in a PARENT series.
  • A journal is the PARENT of articles in the journal. A journal itself may have a journal series as a PARENT.
  • A conference is the PARENT of conference papers, presentations and proceedings in the conference
  • Conference proceedings are the PARENT of a paper in conference proceedings.
  • A DGROUP is the PARENT of COMMENTS in the DGROUP.
